Video: Slum golf and a millionaire
This is such a great story. A classic about the two halves of Mumbai that gives one of the world's most exclusive and expensive leisure sports some street cred.
Millionaire Mumbai venture capitalist Ashish Kacholia narrates a seven-minute ESPN-produced short docu about Anil Mane, a gifted caddy at the prestigious Bombay Presidency Golf Club, whom Kacholia sponsored to play on the semi-pro tour.
Cut to Mane and his boys playing golf off the rooftops of their shanty homes with hand-twisted, rusty metal rods, plastic balls and "garbage penalty strokes" in a unique Mumbai invention called the three-hole slum golf tournament.

Cheryl Cole was a judge on two different versions of "The X-Factor." What a difference a week makes!
The judges for this season of the popular British show were announced today and Cole's name was off the list. This year's judges panel is made up of music mogul Louis Walsh, Take That's Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland from Destiny's Child and Tulisa Contostavlos of N-Dubz.
As TMZ first reported, Cole was supposed to be on the U.S. version of the show, but was given the boot because producers thought her accent was too thick for American audiences.
Guess the Brit's don't have any issue with Rowland's thick accent.

If Miley Cyrus seemed loose hosting "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend, it's because she was.
"SNL" castmember Kristen Wiig tells MTV News the teen queen was not only a blast to have on the set, but also didn't seem to suffer from any anxiety about doing live TV.
"Yes, Miley [was fun to work with]," Wiig said while in New York on Monday (March 7) doing press for her alien-comedy flick, "Paul." "She's cool. It was really, really fun."
Guest host Miley poked fun at her own infamous bong video controversy, as well as at Justin Bieber — whom she played alongside Vanessa Bayer, who just so happens to play Cyrus on the "SNL" skit "The Miley Cyrus Show." Cyrus even went for Lindsay Lohan and Black Eyed Peas frontwoman Fergie. And it was Cyrus' willingness to have a little fun at her own expense that made her the perfect host, according to Wiig.
"Yeah, she was great," the actress said. "She was up for anything. That's always, to me, what makes a host fun to have around. They'll make fun of themselves or how the media perceives them. She was up for anything, which was so great."
In addition to the performance by the Strokes, some of the night's other highlights included Miley's musical number "I'm Sorry I'm Not Perfect" and "Disney Channel Acting School," where Miley and fellow Disney star Raven Symoné (played by Kenan Thompson) taught such subjects such as "Reacting to Stinky Feet" and "Spying in a Doorway," required skills for any actor on a Disney series.

Rihanna Preps Videos For 'Man Down,' 'California King Bed'
'They're both very different,' singer tweets about upcoming clips.

Rihanna has two videos coming your way. The singer is working on clips for "California King Bed" and "Man Down," two singles off her Loud album, and has been keeping her fans up-to-date about them on her Twitter page.
On Tuesday, she teased, "JAMAICA was the BEST!!!!! #RihannaNavy its a big month for u guys! TWO #MAJAH videos droppin' #whosLOUD. They're both very different! One is #GAWJUS and the other is a MOVIE. RIHquest Mandown and California King Bed on your favorite radio station."
Rihanna recently performed "California King Bed" at the ACM Awards. But it was "Man Down" that the singer was excited to talk about late last year.
" 'Man Down' is gangsta! It comes from me trying to achieve that [vibe]," Rihanna told MTV News in November about the saucy song. "I'm super inspired by reggae music [and it] has been a part of me since I was born, and I grew up listening to it. I grew up loving it. My favorite artists are all reggae artists.
"The special thing in that song is the fact that it's a female singing those lyrics, then you have that reggae thing and the chant; the overall energy in that song is so gangsta," she added. "It's got a lot of swagger. I really enjoy it."
The singer also tweeted a photo from the "California King Bed" shoot. The photo is really just a tease as the only visible part of Rihanna is her eyes. She looks out into the camera, snuggled in the sheets in someone's arms. On Sunday, she tweeted that the video would be dropping in less than 10 days, so fans will soon see what Rihanna has in store.

Courtney Love -- Former Maids Clean Up in Court

Courtney Love has been ordered to fork over more than $35k to her two former maids -- after allegedly stiffing them out of their hard earned paychecks for years.
TMZ has learned ... Love's former maids -- named Miriam and Myriam -- scored a huge victory in Beverly Hills court ... after proving Love never paid them for cleaning up her pad several years ago.
The judge now ruled Love must now kick out $16,632.45 to Mirium and $19,137.27 to Myrium ... totaling $35,769.72 in wages, penalties and interest.
A rep for Love could not be reached for comment.

In her previous videos, Shakira's gone global, game-set-match and, after shooting "She Wolf," probably to the chiropractor. And now, in her new video for "Loca," she's gone guerrilla.
Shot run-and-gun style in Barcelona last month, the "Loca" clip follows Shakira and her crew on a madcap dash around the city — including scenes shot in a public fountain and on the back of a motorcycle, which got her in hot water with local authorities. Thanks to all that, it's a decidedly different turn from her past efforts, most of which were big-budget affairs, and all of which avoided getting her in trouble with the law.
"Loca" — which features a cameo by British rapper Dizzee Rascal — is the first single off her new album, Sale El Sol (due October 19), and while the full video won't premiere until Wednesday on MTV.com, you can watch an exclusive 30-second sneak peek right now. There's roller skating, frolicking in a fountain, (very public) costume changes, motorcycle riding and — of course — a whole lot of hip-shaking, too. It's sexy, cheeky and, yes, even a little bit crazy, but then again, what Shakira video isn't? And while "Loca" may be a departure from her previous clips, what makes it great is the simple fact that none of her pop contemporaries — not even Lady Gaga — would dare try something like this. And that's why we love her so much.

Avril Lavigne -- Take Me Out to the F*@&%+ Ball Game!

Avril Lavigne was all smiles when she threw out the first pitch before last night's Tampa Bay Rays game, but she lobbed a few four-letter words at the crowd when a technical glitch messed with her post-game concert.
According to local reports, Avril's mic didn't work at the start of her show ... and she responded to the cavalcade of boos by yelling obscenities at crowd.
Rays rep Rick Vaughn tells TMZ, "The Rays demand profanity-free performances from all of our concert performers and we are extremely disappointed by the language used in last night's show. It is not consistent with the family-friendly atmosphere that Tropicana Field is known for."
Calls to Lavigne's rep were not returned.
UPDATE -- Several of our readers were in attendance last night and point out via our message board ... that while Avril did drop a few F-bombs, they weren't directed at anyone in particular. Her real fans, it seems, enjoyed the show just fine.

Estella Warren ESCAPES Escape Charge

Model, actress, escape artist Estella Warren will NOT be charged for slipping out of her handcuffs and attempting to flee when she was arrested for DUI Monday night thanks to a MAJOR technicality ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... officials will not go forward with the felony escape charge against Warren because she hadn't actually been booked into the system when she made a break for it ... therefore she technically didn't commit felony escape.
As TMZ first reported, Warren was arrested Monday night after she allegedly hit a few parked cars with her Prius, left the scene, got arrested for DUI, kicked a police officer, and then bolted from the police station.
Warren is still facing charges for assault, hit and run and DUI.

Osama bin Elvis
This is the cover off the March 2009 issue of the political magazine American Spectator. The drawing of Osama bin Laden is pretty close to the real thing, but the depiction of Elvis is just terrible. The theme of the cover story was summed up in the first two paragraphs below: Seven years after Osama bin Laden?s last verifiable appearance among the living, there is more evidence for Elvis?s presence among us than for his.
Looks like American Spectator got that one wrong.
You are probably aware of some of the jokes about bin Laden on the late-night TV shows and in cartoons. But, you may not be aware of all the strange stuff the Photoshop jockeys have come up with to mock him. Naturally, some of the bin Laden pictures incorporate Elvis images, and ElvisBlog has searched them out to present here.
Osama in an Elvis jumpsuit was an oft repeated theme. It?s not a very original idea, because dozens of famous people?s heads have been morphed onto Elvis jumpsuit pictures.
There aren?t too many jumpsuit photos of Elvis that show him kneeling, so the image selection was good. But, look at the size of that head. How much more effort would it have taken to get it into proportion to Elvis? body?
This is different. How do you think bin Laden looks with big Elvis hair from the 50s?
Staying with the 50s theme, here?s bin Laden doing the Jailhouse Rock. You wouldn?t believe how many different people have been Photoshopped onto various Elvis photos from the movie.
This isn?t Photoshop, but pure artwork. The connection the Osama toe tag picture has to Elvis might not be apparent unless you were aware of the altered Elvis stamp somebody dreamed up years ago. I always wondered how I would work that into an ElvisBlog article, but I never figured it would be because we nailed Osama bin Laden.
More artwork. Bin Laden and his little girlfriend Madonna. Shouldn?t she be wearing a burka?
One last jumpsuit. Looks like the American Eagle jumpsuit with the long cape. They found a pretty rare picture to make this one.
I like this because it has both Elvis and Osama in it. I hope I can find out which movie the original bar fight came from. Maybe King Creole? Anyway, kick his butt, Elvis.
The Obama cover may have been an actual Weekly World News issue. But, I put it here because it is so reminiscent of the Elvis titles they have run over the years. Just for kicks, here is a bonus cover that sort of fits the theme.
Hey, if our military can catch Osama in Pakistan, we certainly can catch Satan in Iraq.
I have no idea why the Photoshop jockey put a fat Elvis tribute artist in this picture. Wouldn?t it have been more effective with a real Elvis image?
Three years ago, I did an article showing some of the many altered versions of the famous Nixon/Elvis picture. This is new. Replacing Nixon with Darth Vader is inspired; replacing Elvis with bin Laden, not so much.
Recent events have shown that American Spectator certainly had the Osama part of their article's premise wrong. But, they also made the statement, "There is more evidence for Elvis's presence among us." Perhaps they could save face by publishing this picture of a secret CIA operative in Abbottabad, Pakistan, who spied on the bin Laden compound for them.
