Miley Cyrus To Play 'Two And A Half Men' Love Interest?
Former Disney star rumored to play a 'sexy' new catch for Jake Harper.

<P>"Two and a Half Men" might be adding some girl power: <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/cyrus__miley/artist.jhtml">Miley Cyrus</a> is rumored to appear on the show next season.</P><P>According to a source, the actress/singer will play the love interest of the show's "half man," Jake Harper (Angus T. Jones). <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/337331/two-and-a-half-men-s-new-woman-miley-cyrus-to-guest-star-on-hit-comedy" target="_blank">E! News</a> reports that she will appear in several episodes as a new girl who catches Jake's eye.</P><P>While reps for both the show and the actress have yet to respond to MTV News' requests for comment, the source said Miley's character will be "sexy" and the part will be "rife with comedy." Her part on the hit CBS show will welcome the "Hannah Montana" star back to the small screen after she <a href="/news/articles/1656023/miley-cyrus-post-hannah-montana-whats-next.jhtml">hung up her "Hannah Montana" wig back in January 2011</a>.</P><P>"Two and a Half Men" is just the latest news for Cyrus. In addition to her work in the big-screen FBI-themed comedy <a href="http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2011/10/13/miley-cyrus-so-undercover-joshua-bowman/"> "So Undercover,"</a> set for release later this year, she has also been busy planning her <a href="/news/articles/1686727/miley-cyrus-liam-hemsworth-engaged-timeline.jhtml">wedding to fellow star Liam Hemsworth</a> and working on a <a href="/news/articles/1686813/miley-cyrus-sexy-album-liam-hemsworth.jhtml">new album</a>.</P><P>Earlier this summer, Cyrus began work on her next batch of music, which will reportedly show her growth not only musically, but also as a person. Working with the likes of Pharrell Williams and Hit-Boy, an insider said she is "having fun making music for the first time in her career. ... We are watching a young girl turn into a young woman."</P><P>Miley is also making headlines for her new 'do: She chopped off her hair over the weekend and tweeted a photo of the <a href="http://hollywoodcrush.mtv.com/2012/08/13/miley-cyrus-haircut/">cropped, platinum-blond look</a>. Of the new hairstyle, she wrote, "Never felt more me in my whole life."</P>

 played some new music for her fans from a car in a New York City parking lot on Sunday night.</P><P>In barely audible footage <a href="http://www.digitalspy.com/music/news/a394632/lady-gaga-plays-new-track-on-car-stereo-for-fans-in-new-york.html" target="_blank">posted</a> online, the dance track plays in the background — the majority of what is heard in the video is the club-banging beat. Gaga sits in the backseat of an SUV as fans call the track "amazing." The 38-second clip ends with the Mother Monster driving away from her fans.</P><P>Could it be the song that will knock Jepsen from her lofty perch? Only time will tell.</P><P>Gaga will <a href="/news/articles/1686922/lady-gaga-new-album-title.jhtml">reveal the name</a>
 of her new album in September. Last week she hinted that the first song off the LP is produced by longtime collaborator DJ White Shadow, who worked with Gaga on <I>Born This Way</I> singles "Born This Way" and "The Edge of Glory."</P>

<P>If you had to guess which artist has the most Facebook "likes," who would you guess? <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga?</a> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber?</a> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson?</a> Close, but no cigar.</P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/eminem/artist.jhtml">Eminem</a> recently set the record for the most Likes by a living person with 60.1 million, blowing past the competition and landing at #5 on the list of the top 10 Facebook pages.</P><P>According to the <a href="http://pagedata.appdata.com/pages/leaderboard/fc/fan_count" target="_blank">App Data</a> page, Eminem is picking up close to 179,000 new Likes a week (or 26,854 a day), edging out <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml/">Rihanna,</a> who has 59.4 million Likes and is gaining around 167,000 "likes" per week pace (or 22,141 a day).</P><P>The only things blocking the 39-year-old Detroit MC's path to the top are the kinds of wildly popular time suckers that are hard for any flesh-and-blood superstar to pass: YouTube (61.2 million), Texas HoldEm Poker (63.8 million), Facebook itself (70.3 million) and the Facebook for Every Phone page (117.5 million).</P><P>Where do his fellow pop stars land? Shakira is #8 on the list with 53.3 million Likes (just below "The Simpsons" with 53.8 million), then Lady Gaga at #9 (53 million) and Jackson at #10 (51.1 million). Bieber is down at #15 (45.7 million), just ahead of Katy Perry (#16, 45.5 million), Linkin Park (#17, 44.2 million) and Lil Wayne (#20, 39.8 million). You didn't ask, but we'll tell you that MTV is at #27 (36 million).</P><P>Slim Shady might be the Facebook king, but he has quite a way to go when it comes to ruling the Twitter universe. That realm belongs to Gaga, who has more than 27.8 million followers, with Bieber a hair behind at 25.8 million and Perry gaining ground at #3 with 24.2 million. Em, meanwhile, is way down on the list at #19 with 11.8 million followers.</P>

2012 MTV Video Music Awards: The Nominations Are In!

Following a year when both singers pushed the boundaries of their sound by mixing in even more dance and R&B flavor, the pair lead all nominees at this year's awards with five nods each.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="The 2012 Video Music Award Nominees Are..." id="vid:820732.id:1690828" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Rihanna, in fact, has two chances to take home the night's biggest prize, as she's up for Video of the Year for her solo hit "We Found Love" and her duet with Drizzy on his "Take Care." This year's show will air live on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and feature performances from four-time VMA veteran Alicia Keys and VMA first-timers One Direction.</P><P>Last year's big winner, Katy Perry, is not far behind with four nominations on a show that will also shine a light on the global EDM explosion with a Best Electronic Dance Music Video category featuring such bold-faced names as Avicii, Martin Solveig, Skrillex, Calvin Harris and Duck Sauce.</P><P>Rihanna will also duke it out for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and possibly get on the board in a number of professional categories, including Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects.</P><P>Drake's nominations include bids for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Male Video, as well as Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography.</P><P><big><a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/categories.jhtml"><b>What are you waiting for? More women-only days announced for Dubai beach parks
Men�were turned away from one of Dubai's popular beaches on Sunday under new "women-only" regulations.
The Dubai Municipality has launched more women-only days at the emirate's top beach parks, popular with families and tourists for the stretches of sand and connecting gardens that can all be accessed with a small entry fee.�
Under the new decree, Jumeirah Beach Park and Al Mamzar Beach Park are setting aside two days each week -- Monday and Wednesday at Jumeirah, Sunday and Tuesday at Al Mamzar -- as women-only days.�
The only males allowed in are those under the age of four. Even the lifeguards and park staff will be female on those days, reported Dubai daily newspaper Khaleej Times.�
"The move is part of the civic body?s plan to make the leisure destinations more women-friendly to encourage them into more physical activities and keep fit," said the Times report.
Monday was already a women-only day at Jumeirah Beach Park and the Dubai Municipality's decision to add more was a result of positive feedback from female customers.
Bikinis remain tightly controlled
Men must head to the open beach areas away from the enclosed parks.�
Note to female foreign tourists: bikinis remain subject to a strict dress code and are limited to the beach areas only.�
The Municipality also separated areas by activity. There are now designated beach areas for barbecuing, sun-bathing and other activities.�
Designated spaces for ladies is an ongoing trend in the city.�
Last year, the emirate's first women-only dance night --� launched as an event to allow Arab women to "let their hair down" -- was held at the Gloria Hotel, while a number of Dubai hotels including the Tamani Hotel Dubai Marina and the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel have opened ladies-only floors.�

Eminem Beats Lady Gaga, Rihanna To 60 Million Facebook Fans
Rapper now has more Facebook "likes" than any other living person.

<P>If you had to guess which artist has the most Facebook "likes," who would you guess? <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga?</a> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber?</a> <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/jackson_michael/artist.jhtml">Michael Jackson?</a> Close, but no cigar.</P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/eminem/artist.jhtml">Eminem</a> recently set the record for the most Likes by a living person with 60.1 million, blowing past the competition and landing at #5 on the list of the top 10 Facebook pages.</P><P>According to the <a href="http://pagedata.appdata.com/pages/leaderboard/fc/fan_count" target="_blank">App Data</a> page, Eminem is picking up close to 179,000 new Likes a week (or 26,854 a day), edging out <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml/">Rihanna,</a> who has 59.4 million Likes and is gaining around 167,000 "likes" per week pace (or 22,141 a day).</P><P>The only things blocking the 39-year-old Detroit MC's path to the top are the kinds of wildly popular time suckers that are hard for any flesh-and-blood superstar to pass: YouTube (61.2 million), Texas HoldEm Poker (63.8 million), Facebook itself (70.3 million) and the Facebook for Every Phone page (117.5 million).</P><P>Where do his fellow pop stars land? Shakira is #8 on the list with 53.3 million Likes (just below "The Simpsons" with 53.8 million), then Lady Gaga at #9 (53 million) and Jackson at #10 (51.1 million). Bieber is down at #15 (45.7 million), just ahead of Katy Perry (#16, 45.5 million), Linkin Park (#17, 44.2 million) and Lil Wayne (#20, 39.8 million). You didn't ask, but we'll tell you that MTV is at #27 (36 million).</P><P>Slim Shady might be the Facebook king, but he has quite a way to go when it comes to ruling the Twitter universe. That realm belongs to Gaga, who has more than 27.8 million followers, with Bieber a hair behind at 25.8 million and Perry gaining ground at #3 with 24.2 million. Em, meanwhile, is way down on the list at #19 with 11.8 million followers.</P>

Lady Gaga's ARTPOP: A History Of Album Title Oddities
From unpronounceable symbols to parentheses, Gaga's ALL-CAPS album title joins the ranks of the all-time weirdest.

<P>Over the weekend, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> struck a blow against copy editors everywhere when she announced that the title of her new album, <a href="/news/articles/1691226/lady-gaga-new-album-artpop.jhtml"><i>ARTPOP,</i></a> must <i>always</i> be written in ALL CAPS, because "it's all in the details."</P><P>And while we're not trying to downplay said details, we'd be like to point out that Gaga isn't exactly the <i>first</i> artist to demand orthographical satisfaction. Shoot, she's not even the first to go ALL CAPS: Earlier this year, Linkin Park did the same thing with their <a href="/news/articles/1688422/linkin-park-living-things.jhtml"><i>LIVING THINGS</i></a> album, only they one-upped Gaga by also requesting that all <i>songs</i> on the album also be written in all caps, bravely eschewing the lowercase for reasons apparent only to them.</P><P>In fact, the history of popular music is packed with <a href="/news/articles/1579620/panic-at-disco-know-punctuation-better-than-they-think.jhtml">affronts to punctuation</a> — from early pioneers like the Beatles' "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" and James Brown's "Get Up (I Feel Like Being A) Sex Machine" to more recent torchbearers like Panic! at the Disco and Godspeed You! Black Emperor — though rarely have artists had the audacity to extend that mistreatment to the album title itself.</P><P>Of course, there are those who have bravely dared to throw logic (and roughly 300 years of letter-case tradition) out the window when it came time to name their new albums. So in honor of Gaga's <i>ARTPOP</i> demands, here's a look back at some of the greatest — and by that, we mean most nonsensical — album titles in history.</P><P><b>Led Zeppelin's <i>IV</i></b>: At the peak of their powers — both artistically and, it would seem, <i>mystically</i> — Zeppelin decided they didn't need to title their fourth album. Instead, they printed four hand-drawn symbols (each representing a band member) on its inner sleeve. The move has subsequently enthralled generations of bong-glazed dorm inhabitants and only added to the album's mystique. In the 40 years since it was released, the record has come to be known as <i>IV,</i> <i>Runes,</i> <i>Zoso</i> (after Jimmy Page's symbol) and "the one with 'Stairway to Heaven' on it."</P><P><b>Prince's <i>Love Symbol</i> album</b>: Released in the lead-up to the Purple One's "symbol" phase — when he changed his stage name to an unpronounceable hieroglyph that incorporated the symbols for both male and female — it understandably infuriated his label, Warner Bros., which was precisely what Prince intended. (Note to labels: Do not release greatest-hits packages without Prince's approval.) After the album didn't sell (he blamed this on Warner), Prince would eventually begin appearing in public with the phrase "Slave" written on his face. Shocking, to be sure, but at least you could <i>pronounce</i> it.</P><P><b>Ministry's <i>Psalm 69</i></b>: Its actual title is a collection of Greek symbols (that translate to "head") and the number "69" in Greek numerals. Not only that, but Ministry named their 1992 album in honor of occultist Aleister Crowley's "The Book of Lies," which was first published as "Which is also Falsely Called BREAKS. The Wanderings or Falsifications of the One Thought of Frater Perduarbo, which Thought is itself Untrue. Liber CCCXXXIII [Book 333]." And <i>that</i> would have been a ridiculous name for an album.</P><P><b>Sigur Ros' <i>( )</i></b>: The Icelandic art-rockers really outdid themselves on their third album, and we're not just talking about the decision to sing all the songs in a made-up language called "Hopelandic." Technically, <i>( )</i> has no actual title. Rather, the brackets are meant to represent its two halves or give the listener the opportunity to determine the title themselves. Oh, and officially, all of the tracks on the album are untitled too. Your move, Gaga.</P><P><b>Coldplay's <i>X&Y</i></b>: Sure, it's got a traditional title. But ever the <i>artistes,</i> Coldplay decided to print the name of their 2005 album in the <a href="/news/articles/1503742/coldplays-album-cover-decoded.jhtml">Baudot code</a>, an early forerunner of the Morse code that relied on a series of 1's and 0's to convey messages. Needless to say, the logic behind the decision was about as difficult to crack as the code itself.</P><P><b>M.I.A. <i>/\/\ /\ Y /\</i></b>: Yes, we know that technically, M.I.A.'s 2010 album is called <a href="/news/articles/1638991/mias-new-album-called-y.jhtml"><i>Maya</i></a> (she named it after herself, following in the tradition of her first two albums, which were named in honor of her mother and father), but let the record state that when she officially unveiled the title, she did so in tricky typographical fashion. No wonder <a href="/news/articles/1643219/mias-new-album-turd-diplo-tweets.jhtml">Diplo hated it</a> so much.</P><P><b>Liars' <i>WIXIW</i></b>: It's pronounced "Wish You," FYI. 2012 VMA Video Of The Year Race Pits Drake Against Rihanna
With Katy Perry, M.I.A., Gotye also vying for VOTY prize, the ladies have an advantage in the coveted category.

<P>The fellas are going to have to bring their A game if they want to take home the Video of the Year moonman at the 29th annual <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/">2012 MTV Video Music Awards</a>. Seeking to break the four-year run of female VOTY winners are Drake and Gotye, who will vie for the honor against <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/perry_katy/artist.jhtml">Katy Perry</a>, Rihanna and M.I.A.</P><P>The action will all go down live on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST from the Staples Center in Los Angeles during a show that will feature performances from four-time VMA veteran Alicia Keys and VMA first-timers One Direction. <a href="/news/articles/1690825/2012-video-music-awards-nominees.jhtml">Click here</a>

, which borrows from author Lewis Carroll's classic book "Through the Looking Glass, and What Alice Found There," is a kind of shorthand look at the singer's hectic past few years.</P><P>Trapped in a labyrinth, Perry discovers her lost innocence in the form of a young girl, as she gets hounded by hellish paparazzi and finds her Prince Charming, who may have a double-cross in mind. Read into what you will, but Perry certainly doesn't play coy with this one.</P><P>Another girl with love troubles to work out on film is <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml/">Rihanna</a>. In her exploration of a love undone by <a href="/news/articles/1672801/rihanna-we-found-love-video.jhtml">substances and violence</a>
, she shares the screen with British boxer/model Dudley O'Shaughnessy as the pair of gutter punks stumble their way through Belfast, Ireland in a haze of post-coital bliss, drug-fueled benders and physical altercations.</P><P>There is no such angst in the body-painted video for <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/gotye/artist.jhtml">Gotye's</a> breakthrough hit, "Somebody That I Used to Know." In a nod to the low-concept efforts from MTV's early-1980's heyday, "Somebody" finds the mostly naked singer and equally exposed pal Kimbra blending into abstract background courtesy of geometrical shape body paint applied to match a piece of art created by Gotye's father, Frank de Backer.</P><P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/mia__4_/artist.jhtml">M.I.A.</a> hardly does anything that doesn't involve some political or social statement and the ghost-riding accompaniment to <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/02/03/mia-bad-girls-video-morocco/">"Bad Girls"</a> was no exception. In what appears to be a statement on the Saudi Arabian government's ban on female drivers, M.I.A. traveled to Morocco to film women in Arab garb getting behind the wheels and performing a type of stylized Middle Eastern form of drifting known as hagwalah.</P><P>If <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/drake/artist.jhtml">Drake</a> is going to score some VOTY moon rock, he's gonna have to share it with Rihanna. The Young Money MC who isn't afraid to show his sensitive side made one of the best videos of his career with the maudlin, monochromatic "Take Care."</P><P>Packed with expansive, icy landscapes, achingly tense slow-motion footage and artfully framed animals, the minimal clip doesn't really take you anywhere as it depicts the pair amid images of birds taking flight, bulls charging and a shower of arrows.</P><P>But, somehow, at the end, after the pair shares a tender, sexually charged embrace and all that's left is burning trees and smoking earth, you feel exhausted and satisfied.</P><P>Who will hop into a limo at night's end with the Video of the Year moonman?
